Class photo taking sessions

Our class will have the class photo taken next monday, 18th August. All is reminded to bring their collar pins. Tie not stated, so I don't think that there is a need lah.

Our photo taking session is at 1:15pm, and as we are supposed to gather at the atrium 5 min earlier, so WE MUST GATHER AT 1:10PM

Die die cannot late. Or else our pictures may not be taken or we have to make other arrangements with the photographers.

CAAL Measures Indicator

Ok guys, this thing is kinda' hard to explain, but i shall keep it short and sweet, alright.
I will need everyone to tell me which of the following criterias you have achieved for CAAL (Community, Adventure, Achievement, Leadership):

None (meaning not even Basic Criteria)
Basic (Modules that all students should have undergone during their stay in NJ)
Intermediate (additional modules where students who have a passion in any particular aspect of CAAL can develop deeper into) (Highest level achieved)

Community:
Basic:

• Sustained commitment to at least one local CIP, i.e. Civics class/CCA/Individual-initiated


• AND Meet the minimum criteria for the NJC CIP Bronze Award (≥40 hrs)

Intermediate:

• Meet the minimum criteria for NJC CIP Silver Award (≥60 hrs)

Adventure:
Basic: Participation in at least 1 Adventure-based programmes, eg. Enrichment Week

Intermediate: Partcipation in at least 2 Adventure-based programmes, eg. above + YLTC or CIP to Myanmar/Maldives or Grassroot activities or NYAA

Achievement:

Basic:

• An achievement in at least two of the following: Academics, Outdoor/Sports, and Arts/Culture;


• AND pass NAPFA (unless you are deemed medically unfit)

Intermediate:

• Achieve all three arenas stated above;


• AND at least NAPFA Silver

Leadership:

Basic:

• Complete Civics Programme, Principal's Leadership Talks AND Dialogue Session with Senior Civil Servants


• AND being leadership role (EXCO or not, all can) at Civics Group/CCA/College-level

Intermediate

• Complete the above programmes + YLTC

Ok that's all. I will need these info from everyone by 27th August 2008 (Wednesday). So you guys just either email me or tell me in person what you have achieved. Dun SMS hor. My phone battery just exploded recently.

National Day Celebrations!

GREETINGS EARTHLINGS!

This is in response to kk's(whoever that may be) tag that our wonderful blog has no peektures.
Tday is National Day celebrations and ALSO another monumental DATE (pun intended).

The following is intended for comic relief, as the stressful promos are descending upon us, hence no offence to the victims.

FINALLY, BOTH of them gave in to their intense, passionate, inner desires and lived happily ever after!

WELL, I somehow get the feeling that I would be the one NOT living happily ever after, because MDM TAY JING XI will NEVER EVER let me off. :X

I still have 3 peaceful days before I face her wrath then. Till then folks of 08S16, hope that we still can be friends in my next life!

ANOTHER task to be done for cip, and we're done(:

All of you are supposed to write a summative/final reflections on the whole project and upload it to CAAL portfolio in the student profiling system(which i suppose KM, will be checking with mr lin as to WHERE specifically).

Questions for reflection:
- In what way have i contributed to serve the community to effect a real change?
- How has the project taught me to understand the concerns of my community?

1) Let me know verbly whether your parents will (a) come for the PTM and (b) attend the principal's talk at 4pm[if i m not wrong] in the afternoon on 6 Aug right after assembly

1) I'll distribute a PTM letter for each of you next monday.

2) You have to return the reply slip attached to this letter by next Tuesday, signed by your parents.

EDIT:for those who didn't meet criteria of promote or maintaining subject combi, your parents are strongly advised to come to meet their subject teachers for academic part if they can make it, i'll mainly update them on civics part.
